Why Argent Public exists.

Argent Public is a public-interest publication devoted to public spending in Quebec, with particular attention to energy, the green transition, and public administration.

Our aim is simple: to make legible what is already public but scattered, technical, or hard to reach. We gather the documents, establish the facts, and explain in plain language what they mean for public funds.

What we do

• Dossiers — structured investigations into systemic themes.
• Explainers — financial and administrative concepts in plain language.
• The Record — a library of public documents, archived and linked.

What we do not do

We do not publish rumour, partisan opinion, or unsourced material. We do not track our readers and collect no data.

Tone and independence

Our tone is calm, neutral, and evidence-first. Where the facts raise a question, we ask the question — without presuming the answer.
