Example: what is a decree?

A demonstration explainer in plain language. Replace or delete.

A decree is a decision made by the Cabinet (Conseil des ministres). It has the force of law within the limits set by enabling statutes [1].

Why it matters

Decrees often authorise public spending or contracts. Reading them means following the money at its source.
